How To Create An Animated Video
These 6 steps show how to create an animated video with Video Igniter. We do all the work for you. Just share your ideas and we’ll bring your animated video to life.
1). Get A Quote
To get the ball rolling, Video Igniter will meet with you virtually (or send you questions to answer via email) to help us establish your goals and budget for your animated video. Once we agree to the scope of the project, you will receive a production agreement to sign and an invoice for 50% of your production budget.

2). Script
Now that production is underway, the first deliverable we create for your animated video is the script. Often times we get all the information we need to write your script during the ‘get a quote’ phase of production. However if we need more information to write your script, we may send you some additional questions – or schedule a call to discuss details with you further.
Once we’ve created the first draft, you will receive a digital copy to review with your team. Add your comments directly to the script and send it to us once all the feedback is in. We’ll revise your script and share the 2nd draft with you to review and approve. If further edits are needed, we’ll continue to work with you to polish your script until it’s perfect.
3). Storyboard
The second deliverable we create for your animated video is the storyboard. Each page of the storyboard contains a sentence from your script, along with a rough sketch of the scene and a list of motion design instructions for the animators.
You will receive a digital copy of the storyboard to review with your team. If there are any scenes you want us to revise, add your comments directly on each scene. We’ll revise your storyboard and share the 2nd draft with you to review and approve. If additional edits are needed, we’ll continue to work with you to revise the storyboard until you love it.
4). VoiceOver & Soundtrack
You will receive a selection of voiceover auditions and soundtrack options to listen to. Let us know which options are your favorite. We’ll hire the voiceover artist to record the full narration and we’ll acquire the rights to use your favorite soundtrack in your video. When the voiceover narration is ready, you will get a chance to hear how it sounds and request edits before we use it to make your animated video.
5). Illustrations
The way we create illustrations for an animated video happens in two steps. First, we create concept art. Video Igniter’s art director will review your style references and brand guidelines. Then, they’ll develop multiple pieces of concept art for scenes in your storyboard.
When you review the concept art, share your honest feedback with the art director about what you like and dislike about each concept. The art director will work with you to polish your favorite concept until it’s perfect.
Once the concept art locked in, we’ll create all of the illustrations for your animated video based off the approved concept art. You will get a chance to review all of the illustrations and request edits before we create your animated video.
6). Animation
Now that everything is approved, it’s time to create your animated video. It takes about 1 week to create 1 minute of 2D animation.
When the first draft is ready, you will receive a link to download your animated video. Share it with your internal team and members of your target audience. Collect everyone’s feedback and send it our way. We’ll integrate your revisions and render out the final draft of your animated video.
