How to make an animated diagram with Video Igniter?

Video Igniter will guide you through these 7 steps to get your idea turned into a custom animated diagram:

1). Contact Us To Get A Quote

First things first – let’s discuss your animated diagram (via a call or email) so we can understand what you want to create and how you want to use your animated diagram. Then, we’ll develop a budget and production timeline.

When you’re ready to move forward with production, we’ll send you a production agreement to sign and an invoice for the first 50% of your production budget.

2). Script

Some animated diagrams have no sound or voiceover. If your animated diagram includes a voiceover narration, we will work with you to develop the script for the narrator. If there is no voiceover in your animated diagram, we’ll write down a list of instructions to explain what will happen in your animated diagram.

You will receive a copy of the script/writeup to review. Add your comments to the digital document and send it back to us. We’ll integrate your revisions and continue to work with you to revise your script until it’s perfect.

3). Storyboard

Next, we’ll turn your script into a storyboard. This is how we visually map out what we’re going to show and how things will change throughout your animated diagram. Each page of the storyboard will include a rough sketch of the scene, a list of motion design instructions for the animators and a sentence from your script (if there’s a voiceover that goes with your diagram).

You will receive a digital copy of the storyboard to review with your team. Add your notes directly on each frame of the storyboard if there’s something you want us to edit. For animated diagrams, it’s important to make sure we have the order of operations documented accurately before we create your animation.

4). VoiceOver

5). Soundtrack

6). Illustrations

Video Igniter’s art director will review your brand guidelines and any style references you shared. Then, they’ll create multiple pieces of concept art based on scenes from your storyboard.

When you review the concept art for your diagram, be sure to share your honest feedback with the art director. Let them know what you like and dislike about each concept. This way, they can work with you to revise and refine your favorite visual concept until it’s perfect.

Once the concept art is locked in, we’ll create the rest of the images that are needed for your animated diagram. You will get a chance to review all of the illustrations and request edits before we animate your diagram.

7). Animation

Now that everything is approved, we can create your animated diagram. Most animated diagrams take only a few days to animate. Typically it takes about 1 week to animate a full minute of video.

As soon as the first draft is ready, you will receive a link to download a copy of your animated diagram. Share the link with your team and members of your target audience.
