How to use Video Igniter’s Animation App

Ready to turn your idea, script or storyboard into a custom designed animation? Follow these steps to see how to use Video Igniter’s animation app, and watch your animated video come to life.

1). Project Kickoff

To start creating your video, send us a message to let us know you want to use Video Igniter’s animation app. We will send you a custom link to access the animation app.

Fill out the digital creative brief in the animation app. You will see questions asking for details like:

What style of animation do you want create with the app?
What do you want to communicate and show in your animation?
Do you want Video Igniter to write your video’s script or have you already written the script?
How soon do you need the final draft of your animation?
Approximately how long will your animation be?

Once we get all the information from you, Video Igniter will generate an invoice for your production budget. Production begins on your animation after you pay 50% of the invoice.

2). Script

Now that production has begun, Video Igniter’s script writers work behind the scenes to develop the first draft of your script. We review the background information on your project. If we have any questions, our team will reach out to learn more about what you want to communicate and show in your animation..

When the first draft of your video’s script is ready, you will receive an email notification to review the script online.

If you love the script as is mark it as approved. Otherwise, add your feedback and click the submit revisions button. Our team will review your feedback and integrate your revisions.

You will receive an email notification when the second draft of your script is ready. If additional revisions are needed, our writers will continue to work with you to polish the script until you mark the script as approved.

3). Storyboard

After the script is approved, Video Igniter’s storyboard artists develop the storyboard for your animation. The storyboard is a visual set of instructions that explain to the illustrators and animators what they should create for every sentence in your video’s script.

You will receive an email notification when the first draft of your storyboard is ready to review in the animation app . The storyboard will display as a series of images in the app. If you want us to revise any part of the storyboard, you can leave comments directly on each page of the storyboard. When you’re done adding your feedback, click the “Submit Revisions” button.

Video Igniter’s storyboard artists work behind the scenes to update your storyboard according to the feedback you shared. You will receive a notification via email when the second draft of your storyboard is ready to review. If you love the storyboard as is, mark it as approved. Otherwise add your feedback to the storyboard and we’ll work with you to refine the storyboard until it’s perfect.

4). VoiceOver

Now that the storyboard is locked in, we produce the voiceover for your animation. To start things off, you will receive a notification when there are voiceover auditions for you to listen to in the animation app.

Select the voiceover artist you like best. Our team will hire that person to record the full narration for your animation.

When the first draft of the voiceover is ready to review, you will receive a notification to listen to it online. If you love the voiceover as is, mark it as approved. Otherwise, use the feedback box in the animation app to let the narrator know which parts of the voiceover you want them to rerecord.

5). Soundtrack

Video Igniter’s animation app will notify you when soundtrack options are ready for your video. Give them a listen via the online animation app and click on the one you to use in your animation.

If you aren’t a fan of any of the soundtrack selections, share your honest feedback via the app and you will be notified when a new wave of options are ready to review.

6). Illustrations

Creating the art for your animation happens in two phases:

First, Video Igniters Art Director will review your brand guidelines and style references. Then the Art Director will select a handful of scenes from your storyboard and create custom concept art for those scenes.

Video Igniter’s animation app will notify you when the concept art is ready to review. Give the concepts a thoughtful review with your team and share your honest feedback via the animation app. Be sure to let us know what you like and what you don’t like about each concept.

Behind the scenes, the Art Director uses this information to refine the visual style of the concept art. The app will notify you as soon as the updated concepts are ready to review. If needed, the Art Director will continue to collaborate with you via the animation app to revise the visual details of your concept art until everything looks the way you envision.

After the concept art is approved, the Art Director oversees a team of illustrators while they create the art for every scene in your storyboard.

When all of the illustrations are ready, you will receive a notification to review the art via the online animation app. Add your comments directly to each image and click the submit revisions button. Our illustrators will update the art accordingly and notify you when the updated art is ready for you to review and approve.

7). Animation

Now that everything is approved, it’s time to animate your video.

It takes about one week to animate each minute of video. If your video is longer than a few minutes, we may add additional animators to the project to speed up the creation of your video.

When the first draft of your animation is ready, the animation app will notify you and send you a link to review your animation online.

Share the video with your internal team and members of your target audience. Collect feedback from everybody and then submit it through the animation app. Our animators will work update your animation accordingly. You will be notified when the updated version of your animation is ready to watch in the app.

When everything looks perfect, click the “Approve Animation” button and you will be directed to pay the final invoice for your video. After you pay the remainder of your production budget, you will be able to download an unwatermarked copy of your video from our animation app.

Most animations can be produced for $1,500-$7,500 for every minute of video you want us to create. Fancier forms of 2D animation that are created using individually hand drawn frames of animation cost 2-4x more to make.

3D animated video budgets typically start around $7,500 per minute and can go up to $25,000 or more to create a single minute of detailed 3D animation.

It’s possible to create a 60 second 2D, animated video in 4-6 weeks. 3D animation takes 2-3x more time to get through the production process.

2). Use Free Music

There’s a handful of websites that offer free music that we can legally use in your animation. If you visit these sites and find a song you want to use in your animation, send it over to use and we will remove music licensing costs from your production budget.

4). Start Production ASAP

The easiest thing you can do to save 10% or more on your production budget is to begin production as soon as possible. Rush delivery is available if you need to speed up the production process for an upcoming deadline. However, rush delivery can increase your production budget by 10% to 25% or more.
