What is the production process like?

Whether you go the DIY route, hire a freelancer, studio or Video Igniter, the production process is very similar. Below is a brief overview of what you can expect during the production process when you create a custom animation using Video Igniter’s 2D video maker platform.

Step 1: Get A Quote

To get things started, send us a message or schedule a call to get a quote for your 2D video. Be sure to include the following details when you request a quote:

• What kind of 2D video do you want to make?
• How long will the video be?
• When do you need the final draft of your 2D video?
• Will you be providing the script and or the storyboard?

Our team will work with you to develop a production budget and timeline to create your dream video. Once we agree to the scope of the project, you will receive a production agreement to sign and an invoice for 50% of the production budget.

Step 2: Write The Script

What do you want to communicate in your 2D video? Our script writing team will spend time getting to know what you want to say in your video and who you want to communicate that message to.

As soon as the first draft of the script is ready, you will receive an email notification that it’s time to review your script. Get feedback from everyone on your team and type your comments into Video Igniter’s 2D video maker app. We’ll integrate your revisions and notify you when there’s a new draft of your script to review.

Step 3: Create The Storyboard

Next, we turn your script into a storyboard. The storyboard acts like a visual blueprint for the illustrators and animators. It tells them what to create and how to animate every scene of your 2D animation.

You will receive a notification when it’s time to review your storyboard. Give it a detailed review with your team and type in your feedback for each slide. Our storyboard artists will work with you to revise your storyboard until you love it.

Step 4: Record The VoiceOver

You will receive a notification when the voiceover auditions are ready to listen to in your 2D video maker dashboard. Give them a listen and let us know which voiceover artist you like best. We’ll hire them to record the full voiceover and notify you when the full recording is ready to review. Give the narration a listen and let us know if there are any parts you would like to rerecord.

Step 5: Select Music

You will receive a notification when soundtrack options for your project land in your video production dashboard. Give them a listen and select your favorite option. We’ll take care of acquiring the appropriate license so you can legally use the music in your video.

Step 6: Create Illustrations

Art for your 2D video is made in two steps.

First, our art director will make multiple visual concepts for your 2D video. Give them a look over and share your honest feedback with the art director. You can collaborate with the art director to revise and refine your favorite concept until all of the visual details are perfect.

After the concept art is approved, our team will make all of the illustrations based on the approved concept art for your 2D video. You get an opportunity to review all of the art and request revisions before approving the art for production.

Step 7: Animate

Now that everything is approved, we can make your 2D video! As soon as the first draft is ready, you will receive a link to watch your 2D video online. Share the video with members of your team and target audience. Collect everyone’s feedback and then type your notes into the online dashboard for your project. We will integrate your revisions and render out the final draft of your 2D video.

You will receive the unwatermarked version of your 2D video after you pay the rest of your production budget.
