How To Create An Animation For Business

Follow these steps to create a high-converting animation for your business.

1). Get A Quote

Before you start making an animation for your business, we recommend you contact several animation companies to get a quote for your video. Be sure to share details like:

• What kind of animation you want to create?
• How long will the animation will be?
• How soon do you need the final draft?

After you receive production quote(s) from different companies for your business animation, review them while checking out each company’s animation portfolio. This way, you can get an idea of how different budgets correlate to different levels of production quality.

When you’re ready to move forward with production, we’ll send you a production contract to sign and an invoice for the first 50% of your production budget.

2). Script Writing

Now that production is underway, our script writers will meet with you virtually to learn:

• What key messages do you want to convey in your business animations?
• Who is your target audience?
• What problem(s) does your target audience face?
• What do you want people to do when they’re done watching the animation for your business?

After our team digests all of this information, we use it to create the first draft of the script for your video.

3). Storyboard

After your script is approved, we work with you to turn your script into a storyboard. The storyboard acts like a blueprint for your animation.

For every sentence in your storyboard, we create a sketch of the scene to explain what should be shown visually. We also include a list of instructions that explain to the animators how everything should move throughout the scene.

As soon as the first draft is ready, you will receive a link to review a digital copy of the storyboard. Spend time with your team giving the storyboard a thorough review to ensure:

1). The visual storytelling components support the message presented in the script.

2). The storyboard includes enough descriptive information and visual detail to ensure illustration team will be able to accurately design all of the scenes for your business animation. It can be helpful to include product images and links to videos within the storyboard so our team knows exactly how to visually recreate your product within the animation.

After you’ve finished adding your feedback to the storyboard, our team will integrate your revisions to create the 2nd draft of your storyboard. You will get another chance to review the storyboard and request edits before approving the storyboard for production.

4). VoiceOver

Now that the script and storyboard are locked in, we can begin producing the voiceover for your business animation. Our sound team will select several voiceover artists to record the narration for video. Give the auditions a listen and let us know which one is your favorite.

We’ll hire that person to record the full narration for your business animation. You will get an opportunity to listen to the full recording and request edits, if necessary.

5). Soundtrack

Music is the best way to set the mood for your business animation. Our team will select several soundtracks that will help to enhance the presentation of key moments in your video. Give them a listen and let us know which option is your favorite.

Our sound team will take care of acquiring the appropriate license(s) so we can legally use the music in the animation for your business.

6). Illustrations

Creating the illustrations for your business animation happens in two steps.

First, our art director reviews your brand guidelines, style references and storyboard. They will select a few key frames from your storyboard and develop multiple pieces of concept art.

Give the concepts a detailed review with your team. Then, share your honest feedback with the art director. You can collaborate with the art director to revise and refine your favorite visual concept until it’s perfect.

Once the visual concept is nailed down, the art director will oversee the production of all of the illustrations for your business’s animation.

You will get an opportunity to review all of the illustrations and request revisions before we animate your video.

7). Animation

Now that the script, storyboard, voiceover, soundtrack and illustrations have been created and approved, it’s time to make the animation for your business!

It takes about one week to animate each minute of video. As soon as the first draft is ready, you will receive a link to download a digital copy of your animation.

Give the animation a detailed review with your business’s internal team. If you have the ability to do so, we recommend previewing the video with members of your target audience to get their feedback as well.
